Global Novel

If anyone has ever tried to put finger-to-keyboard and write a novel they will know just how difficult it is.

Chris Adams, the guy behind the Global Novel idea, knows this all too well: “Like many other people I love the idea of writing a novel and have given it a go many a time. The problem is that it isn’t easy to keep the ideas flowing and it’s so easy to run out of steam after just a few chapters”.

That’s where the concept for the Global Novel project was born.

The idea is that the first chapter of a brand new novel is posted to the Global Novel website and then it is up to anyone at all from anywhere around the world to write the second chapter and so on and so forth until an entire novel has been written.

The beauty of this is that it brings together so many different writing styles, minds and cultures from writers (experienced and novice alike) from the four corners of the globe - and they only have to write one chapter!

The story and ideas are then kept alive by the next writer, whoever that may be. No one will know when or where the story will go until the chapters are chosen and published on the website and so both the writers and readers will be kept in suspense.

Chris, from Manchester (UK), teamed up with fellow newbie writer Sean Daly to write chapter one of Global Novel and it is now live on the website. They have also set up a discussion board so that ideas and thoughts can be shared about the project, the story so far and of course where the story can go.

For further information go to the Global Novel website www.globalnovel.com where you will find full details of the project and how to get involved.
